TESTIMONIAL
As part of our final year project, our team collaborated with
Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT). Working with CHAT was an extremely
enriching and fulfilling journey. Right from the first meeting, the CHAT team
was always encouraging and open to new ideas and suggestions from our team.
This set the foundation for a good working relationship on which we could base
future discussions and collaborations. We are thankful for CHAT’s trust in our
team and the way they always treated us as part of the CHAT family,
continuously seeking our opinions for various actions taken.
Our team was very
impressed by the CHAT team’s dedication and passion to the project, and their
professionalism further motivated us to commit ourselves to CHAT’s success.
The
CHAT team also helped us to gain a better understanding of the social stigma
related to mental health issues and the means to tackle it. Through the
project, we realised the importance of subtlety and patience in tackling such
social problems.
At the same time, our participation in the project also made
us more aware of our social responsibilities, of the need to be grateful and to
sympathise with others. We realised the need for everyone to come together in
order to bring about a real change to the social problems.
Fighting the
deeply-rooted stigma is a great challenge and a long journey, and many might
lose faith and motivation along the way. However, it is heartening to see the
dedication of the people within the CHAT team, and this inspires the belief
that we will ultimately be able to make headway in this fight to alleviate the
stigma against mental health patients.
We would like to thank the CHAT team for their guidance and
trust in us. It had been an enjoyable experience and we wish for the success of
CHAT.
Yours Sincerely,
X-Stigma Team
