Terms & Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the “One Last Breath” Competition (“Competition”) is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  2. Entry is only open to Singapore citizens, Singapore PR and students aged between 16 to 30 years and/or enrolled in educational institutions in Singapore.

  3. Employees (and their immediate families) of CHAT, participating CHAT partners and agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter.


  4. Competition Dates

  5. Entries open at 9.00am on 10/10/2011 and online entries/registrations close at 11.59pm on 30/11/2011 (“Competition Period”). Mail entries close at 6.00pm on 30/11/2011.

  6. Judging will commence on 8/11/2011. People’s Choice voting will open at 9.00am on 9/11/2011 and close at 11.59pm on 16/11/2011 (“Voting Period”).


  7. Nature of Competition

  8. Multiple prizes can be won as part of this competition. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by CHAT. The twenty (20) entries judged the best by the judging panel at the end of the Competition Period will be deemed the ‘Finalists’. The best Finalist will be deemed the Major Prize winner. The Finalists who choose to have their Artwork voted on by the public (as advised to a representative of CHAT in writing) will be deemed the ‘People’s Choice Finalists’. The People’s Choice Finalists’ entries will be voted on by the public through Facebook, and the entry with the most ‘Likes’ received during the Voting Period will be deemed the People’s Choice Winner.


  9. How to Enter

  10. To be eligible for entry, individuals must, during the Competition Period:
    a) visit the One Last Breath website, http://www.youthinmind.sg/onelastbreath.com.aspx, follow the prompts to the Competition entry page and download and/or print out the available entry forms. The entry form on the site will outline the dimensions for the artwork template for the t-shirt design,

    b) use the t-shirt template on the entry form to create their own piece of artwork (in accordance with the requirements below) (“Artwork”).

  11. Individuals have the option of submitting their Artwork online or mailing/delivering their Artwork. Eligible individuals must submit their entry in accordance with the steps below, depending on their mode of submission:

    (A) Online Email Submission

    i. During the Competition Period, visit the One Last Breath website, follow the prompts to the registration page, input the requested details including their display name, materials used, artwork name, artwork description, date of birth, full name, valid email address, residential address including postcode, phone number and shirt size;

    ii. email their digital Artwork or a scan/photo of their Artwork (if a painted entry form, if a pdf is sent in, CHAT may request for a higher resolution format) to onelastbreath.chat@gmail.com. Emails should also include their CHAT user ID, artwork display name and artwork description along with a valid phone contact and preferred shirt size; and

    iii. submit the fully completed entry so it is received by 11.59pm on 30/11/2011. Eligible individuals will obtain a confirmatory email upon submission to their email (i.e. their registration name) on submission.

    Digital/photo Artwork files uploaded must be in JPG or PNG format and must not exceed 5MB in file size. Scanned Artwork must be in JPG and PNG format and must not exceed 5MB in file size.

    (B) Mail Submission

    i. during the Competition Period, visit the One Last Breath website, follow the prompts to the registration page. Eligible individuals will create a unique user ID. Eligible individuals must attach a print out of their registration to their artwork; and

    ii. include their personal details, email and the unique user ID number (on submission of registration), and attach to the original Artwork created (if the original Artwork is not a painted t-shirt outline of the entry form) and send together to “One Last Breath” Competition, CHAT Hub, *SCAPE Youth Park, 2 Orchard Link, #05-05, Singapore 237 978, so it is received by 6.00pm on 30/11/2011.

    iii. eligible individuals will obtain a confirmatory email upon receipt of their artwork at CHAT Hub to their email (i.e. their registration name).


  12. CHAT accepts no responsibility for any entries not received for any reason. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries. CHAT does not warrant that the One Last Breath website will be available at all times during the Competition Period.

  13. Individuals who submit their entry via mail have the option of uploading a photo of their Artwork (if Artwork is a t-shirt outline applied/transposed to a medium that can be hung on a wall) or a photo/scan of their Artwork, at the time of registering.

  14. Artwork picture files uploaded must be in JPG, PDF or PNG format and must not exceed 5MB in file size. Scanned Artwork must be in JPG, PDF or PNG format and must not exceed 5MB in file size.

  15. All postage and collection costs associated with posting/retrieving the Artwork to/from CHAT is the responsibility of the entrant.



  16. Artwork Requirements

  17. The t-shirt outline (found on website) can be incorporated in any of the following methods to create the Artwork:

    i. Individuals can create a digital Artwork by colouring the pdf file of the entry form from the One Last Breath website, using any available software program; or

    ii. Individuals can apply/ transpose the t-shirt outline to any medium that can be hung on a wall and then painted. Mediums include, but are not limited to, canvas, paper and fabric.

  18. Each Artwork may only contain one t-shirt outline. Any Artwork which contains more than one t-shirt outline will be invalid and will not be considered in judging.

  19. Individuals can paint the t-shirt outline on the entry form (or other medium that can be hung on a wall) in any way they like. ‘Paint’ includes oils, charcoal, collage, or any other substance that can be applied to a surface to change the surface visually.

  20. CHAT will not accept entries with moving pictures, projections or audio, or sculptures or installations, including entries where actual t-shirts are coloured or customised. Entries must be essentially two dimensional.

  21. Entries with moving pictures, projections or audio, or 3-dimensional creations, including entries where actual t-shirts are coloured or customised will be invalid and will not be considered for judging.
  22. Entrants may paint/colour outside the actual t-shirt outline if they wish to. For the sake of clarity, if an entrant chooses to paint the t-shirt outline on the entry form or colour the PDF version of the entry form to create their Artwork, they can paint/colour to the edge of the entry form. If an entrant applies/transposes the t-shirt outline to a medium, he/she can also paint outside the t-shirt outline to create their Artwork.

  23. Artwork created by transposing/applying the t-shirt outline to a medium, must not exceed the dimensions outlined of 420mm x 594mm (A2 size)

  24. Wet or unfinished Artwork will not be accepted.

  25. When entrants submit any materials in conjunction with the Competition, including the original/copy of the Artwork (“Content”), entrants agree that they are fully responsible for the Content they submit. CHAT shall not be liable in any way for such Content to the full extent permitted by law. CHAT may remove any Content without notice for any reason whatsoever. Entrants warrant and agree that:

    (i) they will not submit any Content that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that CHAT may deem is in breach of any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children aged under 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;

    (ii) they will obtain prior consent from any person or property that appears in their Content;

    (iii) they will obtain full prior consent from any person who has jointly created or has any rights in the Content, to the uses and terms herein;

    (iv) their Content shall not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity; and

    (v) they will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others' computer or communication systems. Without limiting any other terms herein, the entrant agrees to indemnify CHAT for any breach of the above terms.


  26. Artwork Ownership

  27. The winning entry submitted by the Top 20 Finalists (including the original Artwork) becomes the property of CHAT. Artwork will not be returned to the Finalists. As a condition of entering this competition, each entrant hereby assigns all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their entry to CHAT, in the event they are judged the top 20 finalists.

  28. Upon submitting any Content (including the original/copy of their Artwork), each entrant, unless CHAT advises otherwise, hereby grants CHAT, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display such Content for any purpose in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. Entrants agree not to assert any moral rights in relation to such use and warrant that they have the full authority to grant these rights.

  29. Each entrant warrants to CHAT that each Artwork submitted is an original artistic work of the entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third party. Entrants agree to indemnify CHAT against all costs and claims by third parties arising from a breach of this warranty. Entrants hereby consent to any use of their Artwork which may otherwise infringe their moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).


  30. Judging, Voting & Prizes

  31. Judging:

    a) All entries will be judged by a credentialed panel appointed by CHAT (“Judging Panel”). Judging will commence at 10:30am on 8/11/2011.

    b) Each entry will be individually judged based on the creativity and originality, effective communication of message, appropriateness, and overall visual appeal of the Artwork submitted.

    c) The judges may select additional reserve entries which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrant.

  32. Finalists:
    (a) The best twenty (20) valid entries, from all entries received online and via mail, as determined by the Judging Panel, will be the Finalists.

    (b) CHAT will contact all Finalists via email and phone to let them know they are a Finalist. In the event that a Finalist is not contactable or does not respond to CHAT within three (3) days of CHAT making all reasonable attempts to contact the Finalist (via the details provided on entry), the Finalists entry will be deemed to be invalid. The next best entry, as determined by the Judging Panel, will be deemed a Finalist.

    (c) Finalists will be notified by telephone and email and asked to send their original Artwork to CHAT Hub at the address: "One Last Breath" Competition, CHAT Hub, *SCAPE Youth Park, 2 Orchard Link, #05-05, Singapore 237978 by 10/11/11 (if not done so already).

    (d) All Finalists will be invited to attend the finalist exhibition on 15/11/2011 (“Finalist Exhibition”). The Finalist Exhibition will be held in Singapore, Singapore. The exact venue of the Finalist Exhibition once confirmed will be provided to all Finalists. All costs associated with travel to and from the Finalist Exhibition are the responsibility of the Finalists.

    (e) It is the responsibility of the Finalists and entrants who send in their Artwork via mail, to arrange collection of their Artwork (at their own expense) prior to 31/12/2011. In the event that an entrant chooses to post/courier their Artwork back to themselves, the entrant themselves will be responsible for all associated postage/courier costs. If Artwork is not collected by this date it will be disposed of by CHAT.

    (f) CHAT will not be responsible for any loss or damage to an Artwork (outside of its reasonable control) whilst in its custody or any loss of any Artwork en route to CHAT. Each entrant is responsible for maintaining his / her own insurance coverage for the Artwork.

  33. Top 3 Prize Winners:
    a) The Top 3 entrants who submit the best Artwork from all Finalists, as determined by the Judging Panel, will win as
    i) first place prize, a Macbook Pro 17”,
    ii) second place prize, a Wacom Bamboo,
    iii) third place prize, an iPad 2, in CHAT’s absolute discretion. The shirt size of the t-shirt to be awarded will be determined by CHAT in consultation with the winners. In the event that a particular shirt size cannot be accommodated, CHAT will award the t-shirts in the next best available size.

    b) The Top 3 prize winners will be notified via phone or email, and will be required to appear in person at the Finalist Exhibition for presentation of the their respective prizes.

    c) The Top 3 prize winners will agree to sign any additional agreement in regard to transferring their ownership rights, including intellectual property rights, and to the extent possible, moral rights, in the Artwork to CHAT and for the use of their Artwork design on t-shirts produced by CHAT, as may be reasonably required by CHAT.

  34. People’s Choice Finalists

    At the time of notification as a Finalist, all Finalists will be asked whether they would like to be considered for the People’s Choice Prize. The Finalists who advise CHAT that they would like to be considered for the People’s Choice Prize and provide written confirmation to this effect, will be deemed a People’s Choice Finalist.

  35. Voting

    a) All People’s Choice Finalists’ entries will be uploaded onto the One Last Breath gallery in Facebook by CHAT for public voting.

    b) To vote, individuals must, during the Voting Period, visit Facebook and press the ‘Like’ button next to the Finalist’s entry they think is best. The user is allowed to cast only one unique vote to the artwork for selection

  36. People’s Choice Winners

    a) The top 3 entries which receive the most number of votes during the Voting Period will win $100 H&M vouchers each.

    b) In the event of a tie for the most number of votes, CHAT will award the People’s Choice prize to the tied-entry the Judging Panel judges as the best. Tied-entries will be judged on their creativity and originality.

    c) The People’s Choice Winner will be notified via phone and email and would be encouraged to attend the exhibition.

    d) CHAT reserves the right, at any time, to invalidate any votes which it reasonably suspects have been submitted fraudulently.


  37. General


  38. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the Finalists, People’s Choice Finalists and winners.

  39. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

  40. CHAT reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at CHAT’s discretion. Failure by CHAT to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

  41. Multiple entries are permitted, subject to the following:
    (a) each entry must be substantially unique; and
    (b) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with the entry requirements.

  42. Only one (1) vote per People’s Choice Finalist’s entry permitted per CHAT user.

  43. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, CHAT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.

  44. CHAT’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  45. If for any reason a winner does not take a prize (or an element of the prize) by the time stipulated by CHAT then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.

  46. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, CHAT, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.

  47. Total prize pool value is valued at SGD$7,500. Prizes include Macbook Pro 17” (~$3,800), Wacom (~$900), iPad 2 16GB WiFi (~$700), and H&M vouchers up to the value of $2,100.

  48. Entrants consent to CHAT using the entrant's Artwork, name, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting the Competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by CHAT.

  49. CHAT collects personal information from entrants through the registration page in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, use this information to send electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. If the personal information requested is not provided, the entrant cannot participate in the Competition. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to CHAT. Entrants provide this consent until such a time as they withdraw it by giving notice to CHAT. Entrants may also wish to read our privacy policy for use of CHAT website.
