Loveless wrists
This story tells about my 3-year long battle with depression and self-injury, and how I have come to reach the place I am now.
It started in February, 3 years ago. I'm still not quite sure what triggered it, but it doesn't matter now. I decided to start cutting myself when I couldn't handle the throbbing pain inside my head anymore.

When my friends found out, they went and told the school counselor. I was furious at the time, not realizing how large a problem my self-injury was. I was convinced I had complete control over it and refused any help.
The depression continued to worsen, just as my home environment was. My brother caused a lot of conflict in the family. We had just moved houses, again, and I was just starting at a new school. So much had changed; I didn't know how to handle it.
After about the first year, it came to my attention that I was addicted to my razor, but I still tried to deny it. At the end of my second year of this whole mess, I finally accepted my friends' attempts to get me help. Then my parents found out. They got really mad and didn't really help at all. They just took my razors and demanded I stop doing this. I didn't listen of course; I was mad at them.

But here I am, 3 years later, and it's improved a lot. I still regret ever starting to cut myself. I still struggle with it. But with the help of my friends and the school therapist, I'm improving, even as we speak.
