    Sometimes I read some of the blog entries by my colleagues and they seem so….composed. Like they’ve got life figured out. I feel so dysfunctional compared to them.

    Seeking acceptance

    A topic that seems to have popped up a lot recently among my young patients have been –“So I’m getting better and want to go back to my previous lifestyle and hang out with old friends again. How do I explain my absence? In the first place, should I explain my absence?”

    No regrets?

    Live your life such that you will have no regrets when you look back.

     

    This has been a guiding phrase; a reminder to myself, of how I want to live my life. It wasn’t easy to follow all the time; looking back, there were regrets, but the regrets also played an important part in my personal growth, as a student, a daughter, a friend, a partner, and now, a young mother.

     

    Speaking of my role as a young mother, there is this particular regret over a thought that I had entertained, the feelings that I had harbored and a behavior that I had displayed...

    There is this girl I know, Diana. We met on the first day of secondary school and in our silly teenage tussle for Queen-Bee rights, became nemeses of sorts. I think we were destined to either be enemies or best friends.
